Reports To: Project Manager 



Job Purpose



The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of building projects for the company’s real estate developments in Enugu and Abuja. The role ensures that projects meet structural safety standards, comply with building codes, and are completed within budget and on schedule.



Key Responsibilities



Project Planning & Design




  • Develop structural designs and detailed engineering plans for building projects.

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and safety standards.



Site Supervision & Construction Management




  • Oversee daily site activities to ensure adherence to design, quality, and timelines.

  • Monitor subcontractors’ work and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

  • Coordinate procurement of materials and ensure proper utilization on site.



Quality Control & Safety




  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality construction standards.

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines at all project sites.

  • Identify and resolve structural and technical issues promptly.



Project Reporting & Documentation




  • Prepare and submit progress reports, site diaries, and project documentation.

  • Assist in preparing tender documents, proposals, and engineering drawings.

  • Track project costs and work closely with the finance team to avoid overruns.



Stakeholder Coordination




  • Liaise with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure smooth execution of projects.

  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input.



Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)




  • Completion of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.

  • Zero structural failures or major safety incidents.

  • Compliance with building regulations and quality standards.

  • Accurate and timely reporting of project status.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree or relevant certifications is an advantage).

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in real estate or construction projects.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of structural design and building codes in Nigeria.

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.

    • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.



  • Certifications: COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) registration is preferred.
